A Story of Masa

Chinese Cuisine Boat Tour: From Downtown to Chinatown!
Chihuo and Chicago Tribune FOOD BOWL proudly present you the Chinese cuisine boat tour from downtown to Chinatown! Join us on August 19th. Chef demonstration will be presented during the tour. Small-scale tasting events will happen on the boat along with the open bar. This is your best opportunity to learn and enjoy the most authentic Asian food in a two hour boat tour. And of course, you can continue the night in Chinatown and explore a world of Chinese restaurants. The boat tour will depart promptly at 6:00 PM. Please be sure to arrive 15 - 30 minutes early to board! Boarding Dock #4 is on the lower level of Rush and Kinzie behind the Trump Towers Hotel. The Trump Hotel is located at 401 N Wabash.

A Restaurant Design Conversation with Designer Jordan Mozer at Twain
Join Chef Tim Graham and wife and beverage director/sommelier Rebekah Graham as they welcome influential designer Jordan Mozer into their new Logan Square restaurant, Twain, for a lively discussion on the inspirations and collaboration behind the concept. The cost is $25 per person and includes tastes from the menu, which is heavily influenced by Graham’s Midwestern upbringing in Missouri and includes items such as hand-cranked ice cream and chicken and dumplings. St. John at Tied House
Legendary London restaurant and a "pioneer of nose to tail" dining comes exclusively to Chicago for FOOD BOWL. Head Chef Jonathan Woolway and Trevor Gulliver join Chef Debbie Gold, the James Beard Award-Winning Executive Chef of Tied House, and Chef de Cuisine AJ Walker of Anker as they come together to create a one-night-only six course meal paying tribute to St. John. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Trotter Project.

Beast Feast with Chefs Brian Jupiter, Kevin Hickey, Ian Davis and Jonathan Woolway of St. John Join a team of Chicago's best chefs and guest chef, Johnathan Woolway of St. John, at Frontier, for a creative celebration of all things meat. Chicago Tribune FOOD BOWL Night Market
For three consecutive nights (August 24 - 26) from 3 - 10 PM, FOOD BOWL will take over the city’s beautiful lakeshore at The Lakefront Green at Theater on the Lake. Event-goers will discover new restaurants, sample unique flavors and experience the best bars, live entertainment and interactive food events that the city has to offer. A $5 suggested donation for entry will benefit our charitable partners: Green City Market, Pilot Light and The Trotter Project.

Great Lakes Fish Fry at Cindy’s Rooftop
Join us at Cindy's Rooftop for a midwestern fish fry utilizing a fish from the Great Lakes such as Walleye Pike or Whitefish to run as a lunch special at the rooftop restaurant atop the iconic Chicago Athletic Association hotel overlooking Millennium Park, The Bean, Lake Michigan, and beyond. The dish will be accompanied by pickled ramp tartar sauce.

Throughout FOOD BOWL, enjoy State and Lake Chicago Tavern's featured Braised Pork Shoulder Bowl! Our special bowl showcases preserved tomato braised pork shoulder, local basmati rice, charred peppers, roasted corn, soft boiled egg, herbs. In celebration of Chicago Tribune's FOOD BOWL, III Forks Prime Steakhouse will offer a special Lobster Pasta dish from August 8-26. Chef Hans Aeschbacher's Cajun-style lobster linguine is tossed with broccolini, corn and cherry tomatoes, served with garlic butter baguette ($55). In addition, III Forks will hold a Bordeaux Wine Dinner on Wednesday, August 22. Guests may enjoy a three course menu paired with wine for $55 per person. Mick Klug + Green City Market Dinner
On Wednesday, August 8, The Green City Market Dinner Series at Travelle Kitchen continues as the restaurant collaborates for one night only with Mick Klug Farm. Each Wednesday evening from May 9 through October 31, the restaurant delivers an unforgettable four-course menu for $55/person, with optional $20/person wine pairing. The Travelle Kitchen + Bar culinary team hand-selects the best offerings each Wednesday morning from the Green City Market in Lincoln Park, Chicago' year-round sustainable farmers market. Inspired by in-season local produce, they create a new menu each week. This special menu is available to guests until ingredients run out.
